A two-month residency at Wigwell Lodge, Derbyshire, for one artist working with expanded photography and digital practices, in partnership with The Ampersand Foundation. The residency takes place in the context of photography's 200th anniversary, with prompts including the Mnemosyne Atlas, the Voyager Golden Record, StarDisk, computational culture and image-making across time and networks.

It is an opportunity to research, experiment and expand thinking around photography, technology and innovative approaches to image-making and visual culture, with the potential to develop into a project or commission for 2027/2028.

What the residency offers

  • Two months' accommodation and studio space at Wigwell Lodge, Derbyshire
  • £1,000 stipend per month
  • £1,000 production budget
  • Up to £500 towards travel
  • Curatorial and administrative support from The Photographers' Gallery
  • Public presentation or showcase at The Photographers' Gallery or a partner venue
