Artists in the Library is a partnership between Toronto Arts Council and Toronto Public Library that provides paid opportunities and space for Toronto artists while increasing access to the arts across Etobicoke, York, North York, East York and Scarborough.

Grants support professional artists, arts organisations and collectives working in any artistic discipline to create and deliver free community-engaged arts programming at one of the branches of the Toronto Public Library.

Support

  • Grants up to CA$20,000 (may cover 100% of project costs)
  • Space and facilities at a Toronto Public Library branch
  • Support from the branch team throughout the project

Timing

  • Programming must take place at the assigned branch between September and December 2027
  • Application deadline: 6 October 2026

Eligibility

  • Canadian citizens / permanent residents / protected persons who have been City of Toronto residents for at least one year
  • Not-for-profit incorporated arts organisations or collectives based in Toronto
  • For collectives of 2, both members must be Toronto residents; for larger collectives, the majority
